The True Story of Americana Music as told from the Hill Country…

Nephew of Country Music Hall of Famer, Ferlin Husky, (dropped the “e” for the stage) Michael Huskey, Singer/Songwriter and Producer of “Michael Huskey’s Americana Roadshow,” brings you an all star lineup up of hill country singer songwriters, from undiscovered local, regional and national artists to prolific talent that has written for and performed with major stars in all genres of music. We only attract the truly best artists who really “get it,” when it comes to integrity, creative collaboration and flexibility as it relates to the proliferation of our art in total respect and consideration to our partners, venues and audiences everywhere. “Uncle Ferlin” as many call him, was instrumental in helping unknowns Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and many others as a friend, mentor and promoter. We do this in homage to him and all the greats!

The show begins with Michael Huskey as MC and performer telling stories from what he calls, “The Apex of Americana,” in the 1950’s when Folk, Blues, Rock-a-Billy and Country music collided to birth Rock n’ Roll as exemplified through Ferlin Husky, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley among others. But, before these stars were even born, Americana originated with the native Americans and the musical immigrants they played with from Europe. This homage is the new opening for the show! Whether you book a solo show with Michael or any size show with “The Hill Country Players,” Michael’s ever expanding band, you and your audience will be happy you did!

After his tribute to his Cherokee and Irish Americana lineage, Michael begins the show performing his new release, “Wings of a Dove” with more of a “West of Nashville Sound” in his new version of his uncle Ferlin’s 1960 mega hit, later re-arranged and recorded by Dolly Parton, who also charted the song. Then Michael’s 2nd cut, “Daddy’s Worn Out Bible,” written for his 100 year old Grandmother (as of May 2024) which takes us into Elvis and Johnny Cash songs with stories about how Elvis got his moves and Ferlin and Johnny’s “Pink Lincoln” story and other crowd favorites. Then the show really takes off with a uniquely immersive and interactive live performance, combining the elements of the latest technology, spotlighting established singer songwriters while featuring breakthrough performances by up and coming artists, always paying homage to those who inspired and mentored us.

EXPANDING TO INCLUDE BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA STARS NOW FEATURED IN LAS VEGAS ALONG WITH ST. LOUIS SHOWS PREMIERING OUR NEW ROADSHOW!

Our expanded Roadshow for larger stages and venues includes a combination of fresh, young, new performers that open the show for some of the veterans of Texas Hill Country and the Nashville music scenes, plus stay tuned for new developments with some of the offspring of those who created the “Bakersfield Sound” back in the early years of Country and Rock-a-Billy Music and forays into experimental music that expands and even breaks the boundaries of genre.

For smaller stages I perform my solo show or duos/trios with other artists that align with each venue’s demographic, budget and artist availability.

This unique immersive and interactive roadshow experience harkens back the early days of the Grand Ol’ Opry and the Louisiana Hay Ride, integrated with engaging modern technology and rising stars as well as shining a spot light on the icons and their families who brought inspired generations of artists throughout multiple genres, old and new!

Michael Huskey’s Americana Roadshow is custom designed for each specific venue to include entertaining and engaging short individual sets by multiple artists, song swaps, full bands and a full cast grand finale, curtain call sending the audience home with a smile and a great story to tell!
